Attorney General William Barr appointed Pallavi S. Shirole to begin hearing cases in October 2019. Judge Shirole earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2006 from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Juris Doctor in 2009 from University of Baltimore School of Law. From 2017 to 2019, she served as an associate legal advisor for the National Security Law Section, Office of the Principal Legal Advisor (OPLA), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in the District of Columbia. From 2016 to 2017, she served as an assistant chief counsel, Office of the Chief Counsel, OPLA, ICE, DHS, in Portland, Oregon. From 2015 to 2017, she directed the Law & Leadership Program at Frederick Douglass High School, in Baltimore. From 2010 to 2015, she served as an assistant state’s attorney for the Office of the State’s Attorney, in Baltimore. Judge Shirole is a member of the Maryland State Bar.
