Attorney General Jeff Sessions appointed Nathaniel B. Walker to begin hearing cases in February 2018. Judge Walker earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996 from Stanford University, a Master of Arts degree in 1998 from Boston College, and a Juris Doctor in 2002 from the Boston College Law School. From 2014 to 2018, he served as an assistant U.S. attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Central District of California, in Los Angeles. From 2009 to 2014, he served as an assistant chief counsel for Office of the Chief Counsel, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in Adelanto and Los Angeles, Calif. From 2006 to 2009, he served as an assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the Commonwealth of Virginia, in both Pulaski and Montgomery counties, Va. From 2003 to 2006, he was an associate at Howrey LLP, in Washington, D.C. From 2002 to 2003, he served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Peter A. Nowinski, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California, in Sacramento, Calif. Judge Walker is a member of the California and Virginia State Bars and the District of Columbia Bar.
