Attorney General William P. Barr appointed Kristin Piepmeier as an immigration judge in March 2020. Judge Piepmeier earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1995 from the University of California, Los Angeles, a Juris Doctor in 2000 from Whittier Law School, and a Master of Laws in 2009 from Loyola Law School. From 2002 to 2019, she served as an attorney, Office of Chief Counsel, Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, and the Office of the District Counsel, former Immigration and Naturalization Service, Department of Justice, in Los Angeles. From 2000 to 2002, she served as an attorney advisor, Office of Administrative Law Judges, Department of Labor, in San Francisco. Judge Piepmeier is a member of the State Bar of California.
