I appeared in front of Judge Butler very recently. He was very knowledgeable regarding the case history, law and facts. He was respectful to everyone in front of him, and sensitive to the respondent’s feelings. I overheard his conversation with the government attorney, I was utterly amazed by this judge’s judicial temperament and high honor. Of course, I have been in front of many other great immigration judges, but I also encountered one judge in the past who was demeaning and unprofessional. So I don’t want to take it for granted any more when I experienced a good judge. I give judge Butler five stars.

Seems to be a highly knowledgeable, calm and an extremely fair adjudicator. Ivy league educated but appears to be empathetic to the difficulties the respondents go through when fleeing persecution.
