A lot of private immigration bar lawyers like IJ Mendez, but 100% of my experiences with him have been horrible. His decisions are nonsensical and Ive seen him cite the exact same reason to deny multiple cases (when it never made sense). I’ve also seen him state in Master Calendar Hearings that he would deny any domestic violence case. Other lawyers think he’s great though, so maybe it’s just me. Maybe he’ll calm down now that the quota system is gone.

Judge Mendez is a great person. He has served for this country and appreciate others who had served as well or serving. I was a linguist back in 2011 with US Marine Corps in Afghanistan. I had a master calendar hearing in 2019 I believe and luckily he was my judge. I have a final hearing coming in 2020 and I am very pleased that he is my judge.
